Vermont Inn to Inn Hiking

This includes all lodging and meals on-trip providing you with a trip itinerary, maps for each day’s hike, transporting your luggage, shuttling you to/from trailheads and other places (when needed), and pick-ups / drop-offs at Burlington, VT Airport or nearby train/bus stations (days preceding or following the trip will be $25-50 per tour). So, for example, a trip for 2 people for 6 days and 5 nights would cost $3,250 ($1,625 per person).

Trips run 2 to 7 days.

Dinner is usually at the inn you will be staying at or a local restaurant. For nights when dinners are not included by the inn, a deduction of $40/pp/per night is given, reducing the price of the trip. The order of the itinerary will depend on availability of the inns at the time you want to come, so no two trips are entirely alike.

Hike through trails and forest roads in the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area within the Green Mountain National Forest of western Vermont, and nearby on quiet lanes and byways in the Champlain, Mad River and White River Valleys from one inn to the next. You cover 8-12 miles a day through ridge-and-valley terrain. Stays are at small inns and B&Bs, most of which are tucked in quiet, scenic spots.

Just to name a few of the highlights you’ll visit are secluded Silver Lake, Rattlesnake Cliffs with it’s spectacular Champlain Valley view, Robert Frost’s summer cabin, fabulous waterfalls, and sections of Vermont’s Long Trail. There are many options available to choose from depending on ability and conditions of the terrain at the time.

Each night’s stay is at great country inns and B&Bs, such as the Inn on Park Street in Brandon, Blueberry Hill Inn in Goshen, Chipman Inn in Ripton, West Hill House in Warren, Huntington House Inn in Rochester, and the Inn on the Green in Middlebury.
